1. The service

Handsign generates images of handwritten signatures from a name, through a website, a playground and an HTTP API. By creating an account or calling the API, you accept these terms. Contact: [email protected].

Signatures are produced by our own generative model. Despite automatic checks, an image may contain a misspelled letter or a visual artefact; we do not guarantee that every image is correct, and we improve the model over time.

2. Zero data retention

Names and generated images are processed in memory for the duration of the request. They are never written to a database, a file, a log or a backup, never shared, and never used to train a model.

We store your email address, a salted hash of your password, a hash of each API key, and one usage record per image (time, style, size, key used) to enforce quotas and show your account page. IP addresses used for rate limiting are kept only as a keyed hash for 48 hours. We use no advertising or analytics trackers. Deleting your account deletes your usage records and API keys, and you can exercise your GDPR rights by writing to us. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email and your optional note only to announce the launch, and delete them on request.

3. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for your account and for every request made with your API keys. Keys are shown once; keep them secret and revoke any key you believe is exposed.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use Handsign to:

• imitate the signature of a real person without their consent;
• forge or alter a document, or deceive anyone about who signed it;
• commit fraud, identity theft or any other unlawful act;
• overload or reverse engineer the service, or bypass quotas.

We may suspend an account or key that breaks these rules.

5. Legal value

An image produced by Handsign is not an electronic signature within the meaning of the eIDAS regulation and does not prove identity or consent.

6. Plans and payment

Plans, prices and quotas are listed on the pricing page. Quotas reset on the first day of each month and unused signatures do not roll over. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, which stores your payment details; we only keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Plans can be cancelled at any time from your account, effective at the end of the current month. The Free plan derives the hand from the name and adds a light watermark to PNG images.

7. Ownership

You may use the images you generate for any lawful purpose, including commercial use. We claim no rights over them.

8. Liability

The service is provided as is, without availability guarantee. Our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us over the twelve months before a claim, and we are not liable for indirect damages.

9. Changes

Material changes to these terms are announced by email 30 days in advance.
